Owned and maintained an 11-year-old Rails application serving the Happier iOS and Android apps. Led development of live meditation coaching features, rate-limiting and fraud prevention systems, and AI-based meditation recommendations. Collaborated closely with a small team of backend engineers, mobile developers, and product managers to ship features using Rails, Svelte, and React while balancing iterative delivery with long-term code quality.

Developed web and mobile applications for clients using Ruby on Rails, React Native, TypeScript, and Elm. Partnered with clients to prioritize features and de-risk MVPs. Established best practices including code review, iterative development, and comprehensive testing in both new and existing codebases.

Led development of FollowApp, a remote cardiac patient monitoring platform. Grew from junior developer to lead engineer, taking the product from MVP to a polished, customizable care platform used in clinical settings. Integrated with third-party APIs including Apple Push Notifications, Zoom, and AliveCor. Established automated testing practices with RSpec and Capybara.

Built and maintained a client database and invoicing platform for a landscaping business with over 200 clients. Handled deployment, infrastructure management on DigitalOcean, and ongoing support. Incorporated user feedback to continuously improve functionality and usability.

Assisted in the design and execution of neuroscience experiments investigating the biological underpinnings of learning and memory. Performed microsurgeries, maintained transgenic mouse colonies, and collaborated with a close-knit research team on experiments exploring memory implantation and manipulation.
